Doing this assignment in class was definitely a learning experience. I photographed Jasmine in her gymnastics leotard. At first, I had the strobe lights at way too high of a power and had to adjust them a few times to get it just right. For the medium and tight shots, I used the gold reflector to add some color into her face. Trying to come up with what poses I wanted her to do was probably one of the hardest parts of doing this assignment in class, but the group that I worked with was very helpful in coming up with ideas. I would start talking about one to get a little bit of ideas and they would help me figure out more in depth of what needed done. I will say that I am glad that we were able to do these things in a large group rather than just the pairs, I think having multiple people was very helpful. We had two people holding the backdrop to be smoother and better to use and then one person holding the reflector up at the direction I needed it in. I had never worked with a whole team of people when doing a photoshoot like this, nor have I done a photoshoot like this before. But I do think that working in a group setting like this was very beneficial in my learning experience with this. I don’t think I would’ve been able to do this as well as I did without this team behind me.
