Doing the location lighting with cars was a really cool experience for me. I think that being able to see the different ways and techniques that different people used was interesting. While I did like one of the techniques far more than the others, it was still a great experience to learn about all of them.

I think that the way Eric Holladay lit the cars was by far my favorite and I really enjoyed figuring out how to combine all the photos in photoshop in order to get to the desired outcome. I haven’t used photoshop in a while (not since my high school photography classes) and I remember really enjoying it and having fun learning all the different ways to use it. So, it was really fun and nice to remember and relearn some of the techniques that I had mastered in photoshop earlier that I had previously forgot.

I think a reason I enjoyed this technique more was because I am more interested in doing more creative photography that will allow me to adjust things later in photoshop. I want to photograph weddings, senior photos, things like that. So, if all goes to plan then I won’t be restricted to what news photography requires, I’ll be able to edit things and make them far more interesting.

However, the different lighting techniques that the photojournalists showed were also very cool and provided a good and easier basis of lighting. I think I could potentially use all these techniques in the future, whether that be portraits or something totally different.
