Charlize Brochu is a Fashion Design major at Central Michigan University. She has been interested in fashion her whole life, whether it was wigs, outfits, hairstyles, or makeup. In her youth, Brochu went to schools that required her to wear uniforms. But, once she got into high school and beyond, she was able to wear whatever she liked. This led to Brochu finding a love for the 60s and 70s style clothing. She complains that her closet and dressers at school are not nearly large enough for all her clothes, and she must keep some under her bed as storage. Even so, she does not even have half of her wardrobe here at Central Michigan University. Brochu loves dressing in bright colors and flares. One would hardly see any black in her wardrobe, though every once in a while, she will go for the goth/ emo look. Much of her clothing is thrifted or bought at TJ Maxx or other small hippie shops she finds. Brochu grew up watching Liv and Maddie and drew much inspiration from the outfits Liv is seen wearing in the show. While she doesn’t sing like Liv does, Brochu hopes to make an impression on those around her through the clothing she wears.

Reflection:

This was the first video project I have ever done, as well as the first project of mine involving audio. I am not very happy with the way my video turned out, I think that it is too dark and that my B-roll is not the best. However, I was not sure what I could have done in order to get better B-roll considering I did not want to fake or stage anything for this video. I tried to capture her life, how she lives in her room, what her room looks like and the things around her. I asked her for some photos of her in her childhood school uniforms to put after she spoke about it. I think that for this being my first video/audio project I did pretty good but definitely could improve on many things. I do think that my audio turned out good and did not have any distracting background noise. I know that I did pick up a dog barking at one point during the interview, which I did not realize until far after and I tried my best to get rid of that in the editing stage. I wanted to go with someone energetic for my in-depth video and I don’t think I could’ve chosen anyone more energetic than Charlize.

The first thing in this part of the reading that really stood out to me was that shooting people rather than scenery is very important. Stockman mentions how you need to think about what you would wan
