Central Michigan University students hosted a Multimedia Sale in the North Arts Studio on campus from April 24 through the 26. There was a wide range of works, spanning from jewelry to pottery. The sale was hosted by the Ceramics Society Event Coordinator, Trynity Green. Students got the opportunity to price and sell their works over this weekend which gave them a better idea of how their future of selling will work as well as a chance to work with their community. They all worked together to get the area prepped and set up before the sale began, taking over the entire North Arts Studio. Trynity Green will be graduating this Spring of 2026 but hopes that the Multimedia Sale will one day become an Art Festival for everyone. She shared that no student is left out of the sale, if they want to sell they can. Green said that there are works from beginner level students all the way to the advanced students. This sale began after the realization Green had that there was a Ceramics Sale but not one for students who work with other forms of media. She pitched the idea of having the Multimedia Sale and now it is something she hopes will only grow in the future.

I was really struggling to find a newsworthy video idea for this. I know that I had previously talked about doing something with the animal shelter in my hometown, but I ended up not getting around to doing that due to issues with time while I was at home. But when I saw that we were having a multimedia sale I decided that that would be a good thing to do it on. I was a little worried that I wouldn’t get a lot of good information about it during my interview, but I did actually end up getting a lot of good stuff. One thing that was frustrating while I was editing was that I realized my mic must not have been working right. I had headphones on and everything that she was saying came through so clearly while I was recording. But when I went to edit my video, there was so much background noise, and she was very quiet. So, I have no idea what happened there, but I think with some of the editing I was able to fix that issue the best I could. I figured that since the press of death was going on at the same time as the sale, I needed to add that into the video a little bit, so I recorded some of that and asked her for some more information on it to put in my voiceover. It ended up being something really cool and I’m glad I got to record it.
