My experience doing the bounce flash assignment definitely had its ups and downs. At first, the flash we had would not connect to my camera, like it would go on my hot shoe but it would register as “incompatible” so I ended up having to use my partners camera because the flash worked on hers. Once we got that all figured out, it was definitely very interesting to see how the bounce flash affected the photos we took. Between shooting with no flash and then different levels of it, there was a massive difference.
I think the way the bounce flash was able to bring out detail and make things look so much better was very cool. Also, it was interesting to find that it would change the colors a bit when you would have it bounce off of different colored surfaces. Even the difference between a white wall and a dark grey door was kind of noticeable to me.
When we went outside to do extreme bounce, it definitely showed up looking a little different than it did inside. I honestly think that I like how the extreme bounce turned out more than I liked just the regular bounce. The extreme bounce had a more appealing effect for my eye, it was interesting to see the differences. But, then at the end another down occurred, we realized that when we swapped SD cards to my partners camera, we had it in the wrong slot so all of my images went to her SD instead, resulting in us needing a transfer.
